About This Site
I created this site because I wanted there to be a genuinely trustworthy place online for British Shorthair cat lovers — somewhere the information comes from real first-hand experience rather than content written at arm’s length.
My name is Ross Davies. I have been breeding and showing pedigree cats since 2004, and I breed British Shorthair cats under my GCCF-registered prefix EzBritz. Although the majority of my 20-plus years of breeding experience has been with Siamese and Oriental cats under my prefix Burnthwaites, the British Shorthair is a breed I know, love and breed myself.
My credentials
I am a GCCF cat judge, qualified to judge Sections 1–3 and Sections 5–6. I became a Siamese judge in 2014 and have since qualified across most sections. I sit on cat club committees and on both the Oriental and Siamese Breed Advisory Committees, and I have managed shows for various clubs.
I hold certifications in feline behaviour and psychology, and in cat anxiety and stress. I write extensively about cats and have been featured in magazines including Your Cat and Our Cats, have guest authored for various cat organisation newsletters, and have spoken at cat seminars.
Over more than two decades in the cat fancy I have bred many best in show cats. Everything I write on this site comes from that hands-on experience — not from secondary sources.
